Christopher Mulholland is available for speaking engagements and presentations at museums, maritime organizations, historical societies, educational institutions, libraries, and other interested organizations.
With more than 22 years of experience as a self-taught Maritime Draftsman, Historian, and Consultant, Chris offers audiences a distinctive perspective on maritime history, historic vessel design, and the traditional art of hand drafting.
His presentations combine historical research, archival material, photographs, technical illustrations, and personal experience to explore the vessels that helped shape maritime history.
From the engineering and history of the great ocean liners to the challenges of reconstructing lesser-documented vessels, each presentation offers audiences an opportunity to discover the research and craftsmanship behind preserving maritime history.
Explore the histories of the three great White Star Line sisters, their design, construction, technical characteristics, and individual careers. This presentation examines the similarities and differences between the vessels, along with the historical research involved in documenting their original arrangements.
Discover the journey behind more than two decades of maritime research and traditional hand drafting. Chris discusses the development of his work, the use of archival resources and historical photographs, and the techniques involved in reconstructing historic vessels by hand.
Explore the research and technical drafting involved in documenting historically significant vessels beyond the great ocean liners. This presentation may include cable ships, Titanic recovery vessels, commercial ships, and other maritime craft, with particular attention to the challenges of reconstructing vessels when original plans and documentation are scarce.
