For the first time in history, a professional ensemble dedicated to the memory of the musicians of the Titanic and all their colleagues of that era is emerging directly from within the worldwide Titanic and ocean liner community. The musicians are members of professional orchestras in Upper Austria and Lower Bavaria, as well as teachers from the Upper Austrian State Music School. Founder Patrick Cornelius Vida has been a Titanic enthusiast for around 30 years and is a lover of the early 20th century era and its music. For too long there has been no “tangible” ensemble specializing in the repertoire of the White Star Line, which at the time comprised at least 360 pieces of music. The quintet would like to fill this gap in order to bring the elegance and exhilaration of the era of ocean voyages back to life for people all over the world.
